Creativity and Critical Thinking in Higher Education
As visualization of learning outcomes in higher education becomes a global challenge, growing interest emerged in how to foster creativity and critical thinking beyond knowledge and expertise limited to traditional disciplines. In this symposium, the role of competency-based education will be discussed as a cornerstone of transformative education in the OECD's discussions and the context of Japan, based on empirical research on environmental studies, service-learning, and Education for Sustainable Development conducted at Sophia University and the ÎçÒ¹°®°®¸£Àû Christian University.
Various professors, the Director of Council for Science, Technology and Innovation (Japan), and the Deputy Head of CERI-OECD will be present for the symposium.
Registration
The event will be held both in-person and online, but interpretation will only be available via Zoom. It will be held in-person at the Sophia University Yotsuya campus, in Building 2 Room 1701.
