Faculty of Renewable Natural Resources at the University of Ibadan
The Faculty of Renewable Natural Resources at the University of Ibadan is dedicated to advancing sustainability through excellence in teaching, research, innovation, and community engagement. Established in 2017 from a forestry programme with roots dating back to 1963, the Faculty comprises four academic departments and offers four undergraduate degree programmes in Aquaculture and Fisheries Management, Forest Production and Products, Social and Environmental Forestry, and Wildlife and Ecotourism Management, alongside a wide range of M.Sc., M.Phil., and Ph.D. programmes with multiple areas of specialization. Its interdisciplinary teaching and research address biodiversity conservation, climate change, renewable resource management, ecosystem restoration, food security, and sustainable livelihoods. Through professional training, research partnerships, and stakeholder engagement, the Faculty contributes to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by developing innovative solutions for the sustainable management of natural resources.
